After fixing microscopic "traps" in the crystal structure, the cells retained 92% of their performance over 100 days of testing. For IoT devices, keyboards, sensors, and alarms that constantly drain batteries, this could possibly mean never changing a battery again.

• China plans on tripling its AI output next year with new fabrication plants that will support Huawei and other domestic players. Huawei’s dedicated fab production will start by the end of this year, with two more plants launching in 2026. SMIC, China’s largest chipmaker, is also set to double its 7nm chip capacity. The move will boost chip supply from companies like Cambricon and Biren.

• Nvidia has dropped the Jetson AGX Thor, a "robot brain" designed to run gen AI models and help robots navigate the physical world. Powered by Nvidia’s Blackwell GPUs, the developer kit is priced at $3,499 — which means you can probably start building a robot for the price of a fully-loaded MacBook Pro. With clients like Amazon, Meta, and Boston Dynamics already on board, Nvidia is betting on robotics as a viable new growth market for the company.
