  • The Defense Advanced Research Project Agency has unveiled wireless Electricity transporter achieved by sending laser beams from one station to the other, transmitting about 800 watts of power over 8.6 kilometers. This technology is to become the breakthrough for wireless electrical transmission, which could be used in the Military, Urban and Suburban areas.

  • Base44, a six-month-old AI startup founded by Israeli dev Maor Shlomo, has been acquired by Wix for $80 million in cash. The “vibe coding” platform turns text prompts into full-stack apps, complete with auth, storage, analytics, and more, targeting non-developers. Despite being bootstrapped, Base44 hit 250K users and posted $189K in profit last month, even while paying for Claude LLM usage.

  • MIT researchers developed a technique called Self Adapting Language Models (SEAL) that lets LLMs adjust their own parameters as they learn. The approach boosted the performance of Meta’s Llama and Alibaba’s Qwen, although pushing the models too much can actually lead them to start forgetting things.

  • The US Army launched a new unit Detachment 201, to bring tech executives into military leadership. It’s part of a plan to merge private-sector AI experience with military innovation. Four execs were appointed: Shyam Sankar (Palantir), Kevin Weil (OpenAI), Andrew “Boz” Bosworth (Meta), and Bob McGrew (ex-OpenAI and now Palantir). The move came just ahead of a Trump-backed military parade sponsored by Palantir. The Army says this will help with recruiting and modernizing the force.
