OPENAI
OpenAI is making waves with the launch of ‘Tasks,’ a new beta feature for ChatGPT that lets users schedule reminders and recurring actions. This marks a significant step into agentic AI, enhancing ChatGPT's utility beyond conversations.

The details:
Users can now set one-time or recurring reminders, like daily weather updates, news briefings, or scheduled web searches.
Tasks are easily managed through chat or a dedicated web interface, with notifications available on desktop, mobile, and web platforms.
ChatGPT will suggest tasks based on your conversation history, but only with your explicit approval.
Initially available for Plus, Team, and Pro users, ‘Tasks’ allows up to 10 active tasks at a time with the "4o with scheduled tasks" model option.
Why it matters:
While reminders may seem basic, ‘Tasks’ is a foundational move towards more sophisticated agentic capabilities. It sets the stage for future integrations, like tool usage or computer interactions, positioning ChatGPT as a more versatile assistant. With the rumored ‘Operator’ feature also on the horizon, 2025 is shaping up to be a transformative year for AI agents.
