OMI
Omi, a game-changing $89 AI wearable, just hit the market, merging always-on listening with early brain-interface technology to streamline productivity tasks. And this is only the beginning—future upgrades could unlock thought-reading capabilities.

The Details:
Omi is versatile, worn as a necklace or clipped to the temple, and taps into brain-interface tech to detect when you address the AI without needing a wake word.
It listens continuously, offering real-time summaries, meeting notes, and contextual information with a battery life of about three days.
The company embraces an open-source philosophy, boasting over 250 apps and integrating AI models from OpenAI and Meta.
While current brain-interface features are limited to intent detection, the founder sees more advanced thought-reading functionalities emerging within two years.
Originally named ‘Friend,’ Omi was renamed after another device took the same name, prompting founder Nik Shevchenko to release a diss track declaring his as ‘the real friend.
Why It Matters:
AI wearables haven’t quite captured the mainstream market yet, often losing momentum after the initial hype. But with continuous advancements, Omi could offer genuine value to users. Still, changing consumer habits and privacy concerns over always-on tech pose significant challenges—especially when it involves wearing a device on your head.
