NeuroXess unveiled two major breakthroughs in brain-computer interface (BCI) technology. These advancements allow patients to control devices, interact with AI, and even decode language, all through their thoughts.

The details:

• An epilepsy patient achieved 71% accuracy in converting thoughts to Chinese, using 142 common syllables, with response times under 100 milliseconds.

• The system’s flexible interface enabled the patient to control smartphones, smart home devices, and robotic arms within days of implantation.

• Patients also controlled digital avatars and interacted with AI models using thought alone, a feat NeuroXess calls the first "mind-to-AI large model."

Why it matters:

2024 has seen incredible advances in BCI technology. While Neuralink has grabbed headlines, NeuroXess proves it’s not the only game in town.
