Google just launched Gemini 2.0, marking a major leap into the world of AI agents. This latest iteration of their flagship AI model packs a powerful punch, boasting enhanced multimodal abilities, native tool integration, and deep research generation capabilities.

The new Gemini 2.0 Flash model outperforms even the larger 1.5 Pro on several key benchmarks, all while maintaining lightning-fast speeds. But the real showstopper is Gemini 2.0's expanded skillset - it can now generate images and multilingual audio directly, in addition to processing text, code, images, and video with ease.

Perhaps most exciting is the new Gemini 2.0 Stream Realtime feature, available for free (unlike the $200/mo ChatGPT Pro). This allows for seamless text, voice, video, or screen-sharing interactions, bringing agentic AI assistance to the masses.

Looking ahead, Google's skunkworks projects promise to take things even further. Project Astra, for instance, delivers multimodal conversational abilities with 10-minute memory and near-human response times - all integrated natively with Google's suite of apps. Meanwhile, Project Mariner brings agentic AI assistance right to your browser through Chrome.
