🤖 Qwen’s QVQ-Max: AI That Sees, Thinks, and Solves

Alibaba’s Qwen team just unveiled QVQ-Max, a next-level visual reasoning model that doesn’t just recognize images—it analyzes, reasons, and solves complex problems across images and videos.

That’ll make for a potent combo, combining xAI’s Colossus supercomputer — considered the largest of its kind in the world — with X’s massive distribution network, made up of an estimated 650M users.

• MIT researchers have developed a mathematical model to predict when pedestrian traffic will shift from orderly to chaotic in crowded spaces. They discovered that the transition point occurs when walkers veer off course by more than 13 degrees, tipping the crowd into disorder. The model could help urban planners design more efficient pedestrian thoroughfares that allow for foot traffic to flow more smoothly.

• Norwegian robotics startup 1X plans to roll out Neo Gamma humanoid robots in "a few hundred to a few thousand" homes by the end of this year. The robots won't be fully autonomous, instead relying on remote human teleoperators who can control the machines and view through their cameras and sensors.
